Edusoft Assessment Management System Selected as 2007 Codie Awards
Finalist
CHICAGO — January 18, 2007 — Riverside Publishing, a division of
Houghton Mifflin Company and leader in comprehensive educational
standards-based assessment, announced today that its flagship formative
solution, Edusoft Assessment Management System, was selected as a
2007 Codie Awards finalist. Established in 1986 by the Software & Information
Industry Association (SIIA), the Codie Awards celebrate outstanding
achievement and vision in the software, digital information and education
technology industries.
"The 2007 Codie finalists represent real winners, even at this stage of the
contest," said Ken Wasch, president, SIIA. "Competition is fiercer than ever
and that makes selection as a Codie finalist a major achievement."
A distinguished panel of reviewers from the education, information technology,
trade press and consulting industries selected Edusoft from a pool of
more than 1,200 nominations. The Edusoft Assessment Management System
was chosen as a "Best Student Assessment Solution" finalist — a category Edusoft
won in 2005.
"We are extremely pleased that Edusoft has been selected by
industry experts as a finalist out of so many competing nominations," said
Michael Perik, chairman, Houghton Mifflin Assessment Division. "This honor
reinforces to us that Edusoft is a true leader in the highly
competitive formative assessment market."
The Edusoft Assessment Management System is a standards-based
assessment solution that gives school districts powerful tools to help improve
classroom instruction and student performance. With the latest version, Edusoft
4.0, educators have the flexibility to choose to deliver tests online, on
paper, or through a combination of these delivery mechanisms. With Edusoft,
educators can instantaneously access reports for online tests; view students’
online and paper test results together or separately; and quickly score
multiple choice, short answer and constructed response questions. Edusoft
4.0 also features several content enhancements, including new high school item
banks, Lexile scores for reading passages and Bloom's Taxonomy and cognitive
difficulty indicators.
The 2007 Codie Awards will be presented at a gala event on April 17 at the
Palace Hotel in San Francisco, California. For more information about the 2007
